This dish is more commonly known as ‘bibimbop’ in Korean which just means rice with mixed vegetables. It is pretty much what I will eat during the week when there is no time to cook anything. The only reason I didn’t use the title bibimbop is beacause I didn’t use sticky rice. I found this wheat rice at the health food store and thought I would give it a try. It was so good. Even though I over cooked it a little.
Rice can be mixed with pretty much anything. It is also eaten at any time of the day. I have not gotten tired of rice… yet…
Seaweed paper is absolutely delicious, if I am to recommend one thing that will likely be available at your nearest asian mart it would be seaweed paper. It is usually served as a side dish to enjoy with rice. It is so tasty and simple… just stuff it full with rice and stuff er’ in your mouth.
I was inspired by a bibimbop I ate along the seaside when I was away this weekend, they used the same ingredients except the rice was a sticky rice… and it was ‘dolsat bibimbop’ meaning it was served in a steaming hot-pot… the sesame seeds were a poppin’ when the dish was served!
